Dear Guests and ANNA Members:

It is a true honor to extend a warm welcome to the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, for the ANNA Extraordinary General Assembly. Organized by Entidad de Depósito de Valores (EDV), this event will take place from December 2 to December 4, 2026.

Our city welcomes you with the energy of its tropical climate and the dynamism of a constantly evolving region. This growth reflects the technological transformation driving Bolivia and its firm vision of consolidating itself as a regional financial hub.

This event is an invitation to engage in dialogue, focus on strategic decision-making, inspire one another, strengthen ties that transcend borders, and build the future of global capital markets together.

We trust that these days will be highly productive and enriching. We also encourage you to take time to enjoy our rich gastronomy, the diversity of our culture, and, above all, the warmth and hospitality of our people.

Thank you for joining us and for being part of this significant moment.

Welcome to Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz — Bolivia

Santa Cruz, city, east-central Bolivia. It is situated in the hot, tropical lowlands at an elevation of 1,365 feet (416 metres) above sea level.

Santa Cruz has grown rapidly since the late 20th century, largely because of the expansion of agriculture (notably soybeans, sugarcane, and rice) and petroleum and natural gas mining in the surrounding valleys.

The city produces soybean oil, dairy and meat products, refined sugar, wood products, leather, and alcohol. Oil refining is also important. By the turn of the 21st century, the population of Santa Cruz had surpassed that of La Paz, Bolivia's administrative capital, making Santa Cruz the country's largest city.

Santa Cruz is the seat of Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (1879) and other educational institutions. It is also home to natural-history, ethno-folkloric, and other museums, as well as several art galleries.

Two large national parks are located east and west of the city, respectively, and Samaipata, a pre-Columbian archaeological site that was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998, is about 60 miles (100 km) southwest of Santa Cruz.

Information
about Bolivia

Bolivia, landlocked country of west-central South America. Extending some 950 miles (1,500 km) north-south and 800 miles (1,300 km) east-west, Bolivia is bordered to the north and east by Brazil, to the southeast by Paraguay, to the south by Argentina, to the southwest and west by Chile, and to the northwest by Peru. Bolivia shares Lake Titicaca, the second largest lake in South America (after Lake Maracaibo), with Peru.

Bolivia is traditionally regarded as a highland country. Although only one-third of its territory lies in the Andes Mountains, most of its largest cities are there, and for centuries the highlands have attracted the nation's largest amount of mining, commercial, and business investment. In the late 20th century, however, the demographic and economic landscape began to change as the eastern lowlands---particularly the department of Santa Cruz---developed rapidly.

Additional Information

Cultural considerations

It is not mandatory to leave a tip, but if the service is excellent, it is customary to leave around 10% of the bill in bars and restaurants. Consider taking a taxi booked by hotel or restaurant staff. You can also request one through online apps like Uber, Yango, InDrive, Eco Taxi, Taxi Sha, and Sonic, instead of hailing one on the street.

Electrical standards

Bolivia primarily uses Type A (two flat parallel pins) and Type C (two round parallel pins) electrical plugs. In Bolivia, the standard electricity supply is predominantly 220V/230V at a frequency of 50Hz, however, some older buildings may use 110V.

Vaccination

A yellow fever vaccination is strongly recommended, please check with your airline for more details.
